Job Details Job Location: HISRA - PEORIA, IL 61615 Position Type: Part Time Salary Range: $15.00 - $18.00 Hourly The Heart of Illinois Special Recreation Association (HISRA) is a cooperative effort of the Peoria, Morton, Chillicothe, and Washington Park Districts. Its mission is to provide quality recreation programs and services to individuals with disabilities and special needs. HISRA has several openings that center around hands-on experiences working with these individuals. Overview: HISRA offers a variety of programming during the evening and on weekends. HISRA also offers a recreation program for adults during the day, Special Olympics, and bowling programs. Staff positions are as follows: Program Leader/Driver: Accommodation planning responsibility Responsible for the development and implementation of planned outings, the personal care, supervision, and behavior management of participants. Responsible for the supervision of Program Aides and Volunteers. Program Aide: Responsible for assisting the Program Leader in the implementation and supervision of the planned outings, the personal care, supervision, and behavior management of participants. All staff will be required to attend a mandatory staff orientation and training Essential Functions: Bend, stoop, and sit for a period of time. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Qualifications Experience: Previous experience working with children and young adults with disabilities, demonstrating a genuine understanding and appreciation for their unique needs.
