REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Languages:

  • Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
  • Knowledge of Norwegian is an asset.

Education:

Applicants to the UNDP internship programme must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:

  • Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (such as bachelor’s degree or equivalent); preferably in international affairs, political science, international development, journalism, communications, or other relevant social sciences.
  • Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as a master’s programme, or higher); preferably in international affairs, political science, international development, journalism, communications, or other relevant social sciences.
  • Have recently graduated with a university degree (as defined above and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation;Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program and undertake the internship as part of this program.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Global Programme Advisor on Anti-Corruption at the UNDP Global Policy Centre for Governance, the intern will:

  • Help to promote awareness of the Centre’s mandate, work, and results, through support of the implementation of the Centre and the anti-corruption team’s communication and partnership strategies.
  • Assist in the development of concept notes, terms of reference, presentations, proposals, speech remarks.
  • Assist in enlarging the Centre and the anti-corruption team’s network of research and knowledge partnerships in the Scandinavian countries.
  • Participate in internal and external meetings, events and other necessary engagements with project stakeholders, collaborative partners, and potential collaborative partners.
  • Support the thematic work streams of the Centre as needed.
  • Assist in preparing launches of UNDP reports and other public events.
  • Develop analyses, research and background documents on key governance and anti-corruption issues, as well as drafting and editing other materials.
  • Additional tasks as required to support the work of the Global Policy Centre for Governance the anti-corruption team.
