Rooted in snew̓íyelh (teachings) and wenáxws (respect), this role contributes to empowering Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw members through culturally grounded training programs, career pathways, and community‑aligned learning opportunities. As the Team Leader, you will oversee daily operations of the Training & Trades Centre, supervise staff, support major program budgets, and ensure streamlined administration of training programs tied to member employment readiness. Your leadership helps advance community prosperity by supporting education, training access, and long‑term career outcomes. WHAT YOU’LL DO * Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the Training & Trades Centre, including workflow management and supervision of a 5‑person team. * Track, monitor, and support TTC program budgets ($300,000–$1.5M), ensuring spending aligns with funding requirements. * Assist with interim, quarterly, and year‑end reporting, including statistical tracking related to TTC services, programs, and student activity. * Ensure accurate entry and maintenance of client information in the Employment & Training database. * Establish work priorities, assign tasks, and support administrative workflow to meet program and reporting deadlines. * Provide coaching, mentoring, and daily supervision to TTC staff, including performance monitoring and workload review. * Respond to inquiries, requests, and complex complaints with tact, diplomacy, and professionalism. * Maintain accurate records, protect confidentiality, and ensure adherence to policy, procedures, and funding requirements. * Develop and support TTC communications and marketing materials to promote programs and services. * Build effective working relationships with other divisions, external partners, and stakeholders. * Ensure staff compliance with workplace health and safety procedures, safe work practices, and organizational policies. * Contribute collaboratively to department goals and perform additional duties as required. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR * Diploma in Career Counselling, Business, Communications, Marketing, Office Administration, or a related field; equivalent combinations considered. * 4–5 years (with Diploma) or 5–7 years (with Certificate) of experience in staff supervision, program coordination, training delivery, and administrative leadership. * Ability to manage program budgets, reporting, data tracking, and program administration. * Strong leadership skills, including mentoring, coaching, and supervision of staff. * Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and comfort working with large database systems; JD Edwards experience is an asset. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an adaptable, professional style. * High emotional intelligence, patience, integrity, and ability to maintain composure under pressure. * Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion. * Strong time‑management, organization, and multi‑tasking abilities. * Experience working in a First Nations environment is preferred. * Valid BC Class 4 or 5 Driver’s Licence (Class 7N may be considered) and reliable vehicle access. * Ability to travel and work evenings/weekends as required.
