Description

Under general supervision of the Crime Analyst Supervisor, the Program Technician (PT) II performs complex technical duties in support of the California Sex Offender Registry’s Assessment Unit. Duties include: evaluating criminal history/registration information to identify missing or incomplete data necessary to document a sex or arson offender’s requirement to register; accessing a variety of databases/information systems and/or contacting California, out-of-state, federal, military and juvenile criminal justice agencies by telephone, fax, email or mail to obtain criminal history and registration data; reviewing, evaluating, and extracting specified information and coordinating the updates of appropriate records; and performing problem resolution on sex and arson offender criminal history and California Sex and Arson Registry database records.

Working Conditions
This position is designated for telework under Government Code section 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California and may require reporting to headquarters or field offices and facilities to fulfill operational needs. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be reevaluated at any time. Telework does not change the terms and conditions of employment, the essential functions of job duties, or required compliance with the Department of Justice policies.
This position is eligible for telework, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.
