PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT: Under the supervision of the Head of AO and guidance of the human capital technical leads (Nutrition, School feeding) the Programme Associate will support the design, implementation, and monitoring of WFP’s School Feeding and Nutrition programmes at the Area Office level. The role will provide operational support for integrated health, nutrition, and education initiatives including the Gates Foundation-funded project while coordinating with internal units (School Feeding, Nutrition, Emergency Response, RFS) and external partners. The Programme Associate will ensure programme alignment with WFP policies, donor requirements, and national priorities, and contribute to capacity building, reporting, knowledge management, and timely delivery of activities across targeted provinces and districts ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Consolidate, review, and generate weekly and monthly reports and datasheets capturing School Feeding and Nutrition Programme activities at AO level. Track project implementation progress, monitor budget utilization, and ensure adherence to donor requirements. Coordinate overall monitoring and reporting on education and nutrition support activities, including weekly programme updates for executive briefs and management tracking. Deliver technical guidance to Cooperating Partners (CPs) on the implementation of School Feeding and Nutrition activities, supporting them in achieving programme objectives. Participate in monthly Sub-Education and nutrition Cluster meetings and ad hoc meetings when required, representing WFP School Feeding and nutrition at AO level. Manage CP invoicing, process CP payments, and oversee field missions. Maintain active communication and collaboration with Emergency Response, RFS, and other WFP teams, ensuring integration of project activities into relevant plans, proposals, and FLAs. coordination forums, and relevant focal points to ensure effective project implementation. Support the planning, design, and implementation of evaluation assessments and process monitoring for education and nutrition interventions. Ensure systematic data collection, compilation, and reporting of awareness sessions in various formats. Coordinate with M&E teams to guarantee proper execution of baseline and endline studies. Maintain updated archives of evidence generation for AO and CO use. Ensure proper project planning, timelines, and targeting for both School Feeding and Nutrition activities. Monitor project milestones and promptly inform supervisors and CO staff of any changes affecting implementation. Conduct regular supervisory and quality assurance visits to project sites. Develop, manage, and track communication, training, and SBC materials in coordination with logistics, procurement, AOs, and partners to ensure timely dissemination at field level. Follow up on issues and challenges reported from the field and provide timely updates to supervisors and AOs. Keep project folders and files updated and prepare reports as per agreed timelines and formats. Perform other related tasks as required and delegated by the supervisor, including support to MCBP projects. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Education: First university degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Communication for development, Anthropology, Social Sciences, Psychology or any other related field. An advanced university degree would be an added advantage. Experience: At least 6 years of experience in implementing education, nutrition and SBCC related support activities in direct collaboration with government counterparts. Exposure with cash-based transfer programmes. Experience in coordination and facilitation of meetings with UN and government counterparts. Knowledge & Skills: Strong project management, analytical skills with ability to conceptualize complex issues, analyze data, produce thorough reports and policy recommendations.
