The Lancaster Doctorate in Clinical Psychology is seeking to appoint a new Programme Director for this large, well-established and successful programme. Our new Programme Director will be a qualified Clinical Psychologist with well-developed leaderships skills, a thorough knowledge of DClinPsy programmes and a research profile commensurate with an appointment at professorial level. You will lead the programme to refine and develop its ability to train the clinical psychologists of the future and lead the wider endeavour to extend the educational offerings of the programme and ensure that they are built on strong evidence base enhanced by their own programme of research.
The programme is part of the Division of Health Research within the Faculty of Health and Medicine and the successful candidate will be joining a welcoming and committed leadership team with shared ambitions to provide high quality postgraduate and professional qualifications supported and informed by internationally recognised research activity.
You must be able to demonstrate the potential to make a high-quality contribution to the future profile of clinical psychology and mental health research conducted across the programme and the research groups within the Division of Health Research.
As a programme we are rightly proud of commitments to widen access to the profession and to ensure that equality, diversity and inclusion are at the heart of all that we do. A commitment to person centred leadership and experience of leading, managing and inspiring both staff and trainees is essential.
Our team and the Division of Health Research provides a friendly environment that strongly supports the individual needs of each employee and actively promotes a healthy work-life balance. The Faculty is committed to family-friendly and flexible working policies and has held a Silver Athena SWAN award since 2014 in recognition of its good employment practice undertaken to address gender equality in higher education and research.
We are open to discussing flexible working arrangements within a full-time contract.
Applicants wishing to consider the Skilled Worker Route should ensure they meet the points requirement before applying. Further information can be found on the UK Visas and Immigration website.
Interested applicants are encouraged to review the information about the programme that is held online https://www.lancaster.ac.uk/health-and-medicine/dhr/dclinpsy/ and to arrange an informal conversation with Professor Mark Limmer, Head of the Division of Health Research (m.limmer@lancaster.ac.uk) before applying.
