The NI works alongside the Conventional Island, which converts steam into electricity, forming the core of the plant’s operations.
Conventional Island (CI): refers to the part of a power plant that directly generates electricity, including systems like the boiler, turbine, generator, and condenser. Balance of Plant (BOP) encompasses the supporting infrastructure and systems that ensure the plant operates efficiently, such as electrical, cooling, fuel handling, and control systems, but are not directly involved in power generation.
