You’ll play a key role in orchestrating and driving a major strategic programme, ensuring seamless coordination between technical experts, business leaders, and external partners. Your ability to connect the dots across complex streams of work will be instrumental in delivering high-impact change that benefits both internal and external customers. Mō te Tūranga | About the Role This is a permanent, hybrid position based in Auckland with three days in the office. The role is uniquely positioned to influence programme strategy, execution, and governance, working closely with senior leaders and subject matter experts to shape outcomes at every stage. What are day-to-day tasks the person in this role will complete? Lead, coordinate, and deliver all facets of programme governance. Facilitating executive steering committees, programme forums, and cross-functional working groups. Serve as the right hand to the Programme Director, stepping in to represent programme leadership as required in critical meetings and providing clear, concise updates to senior leaders and stakeholders. Support strategic decision-making by synthesising input from technical advisors, business stakeholders, and subject matter experts, ensuring all voices are heard and outcomes are clearly defined. Oversee the preparation and delivery of high-impact communications, including board-level presentation packs, programme updates, and detailed reporting documentation. Identify, assess, and proactively manage risks and dependencies, ensuring robust controls are in place and transparently documented. Develop and monitor key programme performance metrics. Tracking adoption, system reliability, and organisational readiness, and using data to tell a compelling story about progress, value delivered and operational outcomes. What is your management style? You’ll have plenty of autonomy to make decisions and lead initiatives, with the Programme Director providing high-level guidance and always available for support or escalation. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to facilitate and influence at all levels. Whether running a project stand-up or presenting to senior leadership. Proven experience working within a large, multi-stream programme in a high-change environment. Strong stakeholder engagement, with a talent for building consensus and navigating competing priorities. Analytical mindset, capable of distilling complex quantitative and qualitative data into actionable insights and clear recommendations. An understanding of project management and agile methodologies, with a track record of delivering results in dynamic environments.
