One of the UK’s leading insurance providers, serving millions of customers across car, home, health, and business insurance, is seeking a Programme Manager to join their dynamic team in Shannon.
You will be part of the IT Program & Portfolio, responsible for leading and managing the move to Cloud, ensuring they meet the business meet their goals including planning, budget definition & monitoring, project manager co-ordination, right technical solutions, delivering on time, etc.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Experience in delivering Cloud Migrations (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
  • Knowledge of Public Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure)
  • 3+ years of experience as a Program Manager.
  • Knowledge and experience of different software development life cycles and IT governance models.
  • Understanding of Agile principles and Agile ways of working.
  • Experience of working within, influencing within and networking within a matrix environment
  • Experience of working with geographically dispersed teams
  • Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods
  • Ability to create and deliver Executive level communications
  • Ability to create and deliver regular & adhoc program reporting
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, MS Project
  • Outstanding leadership and organisational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving ability and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done
  • Solid technical background/awareness with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development, security programs, Infrastructure programs, Architecture, etc
  • Experience leading a team of project managers plus other technical experts as required
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility for program delivery
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
Responsibilities
  • Co-ordinate cross-project activities
  • Lead project managers
  • Develop and control deadlines, budgets and scope
  • Manage and resolve dependencies between the projects of the program
  • Manage program risks, and embed the risk management process into the program from the outset
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with all stakeholders
  • Prepare reports for IT and Business leadership
  • Manage Program steering meetings
  • Track metrics & Key Performance Indicators for the program and make program decisions based on that information
  • Work with internal teams & suppliers to ensure ongoing delivery of high quality, cost-effective deliverables
  • Create and maintain the IT program plan, showing an integrated realisation of the IT key deliverables of the program
  • Ensure adherence by the project managers to the Guild & Chapter governance
  • Work collaboratively with all areas of the business.
