PROGRAMME MANAGER - FINANCE SYSTEMS REPLACEMENT PROJECT

Location: RSPB UKHQ, Sandy, Bedfordshire. Hybrid working. There will be a requirement to work at RSPB HQ, regularly, on average one to two days per week
Contract: Fixed Term for 15 months
Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £44,315.00 - £47,312.00 Per Annum

We are looking for a Programme Manager to oversee the replacement of our Finance Systems. This role is essential to support the Finance Systems Replacement project, a Board priority and a major digital change project. The Finance Systems Replacement project seeks to replace several systems that are over 20 years old.
The FSRP Programme Manager will oversee the project on behalf of the project sponsor and report to the Deputy Director Finance. The Programme Manager will be responsible for achieving a go-live of July 2026 for the new finance product Xledger and will be expected to have experience of digital change management and finance systems and processes.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE:

  • Significant knowledge of the products, systems and processes needed to deliver large-scale technical projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of various project management methodologies, including Agile and Prince II.
  • Significant knowledge of development methodologies and best practice.
  • Significant knowledge of testing principles, methodologies and best practice.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Highly skilled in Agile and / or Prince II project management methodologies.
  • Highly skilled communicator with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and accessible way.
  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills - able to secure time, resource and organisational focus on key projects as required.
  • Demonstrable leadership ability, able to lead without line management authority.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to find creative solutions.
  • Able to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to understand financial systems.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
