JOB SUMMARY
Defence has a window of opportunity to aggregate, reset and optimise support services contracts in the window 2026-2028 when multiple high profile contracts are due to expire.
Future Defence Support Services (FDSS) will succeed LCS(T) from 2028 and integrate elements of capability currently provided by the other contracts or in-house services to deliver the availability, agility, flexibility, and resilience that Defence requires of its support services. It is critical that these support services transition to avoid a capability cliff edge, ensuring continuity of service beyond 2028.
Aligned to the establishment of FDSS as a Programme, FDSS are creating a Programme Management Office (PMO) function. This presents an exciting opportunity to join a team at its inception and help it inform its formation, bringing your skills and experience to aid the PMO Head to developing a collaborative and empowering environment.
The Programme Officer will have excellent written communication skills to assist in document drafting, review and assurance of high-level papers, manage the drafting of responses to Requests for Information (RFIs) or Freedom of Information (FOIs) and will represent the programme on behalf of senior leadership at events or meetings as required.
The role will undertake assurance activities across the Programme, driving the professionalisation of the Project Delivery and associated methodologies with a collaborative approach.
This role represents an excellent opportunity to gain senior exposure and have a significant role in delivering a Cat A programme of work.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. The post does not offer relocation expenses.
