WFP Lebanon provides cash assistance to Syrian refugees and in-kind assistance to vulnerable Lebanese, while supporting the Government in strengthening social safety nets. To know more about WFP’s mission, please check the below video: https://www.facebook.com/WorldFoodProgramme/videos/10154930622760178/ Contract Duration: 12 months (with possibility of renewal based on business needs, funding and performance) Job Purpose: Under the direct supervision of the Head of School Meals, the incumbent will be responsible to provide support to policy and programme activities in the areas of livelihoods enhancement, resilience building, climate adaptation, and food systems. This includes supporting Field Offices and cooperating partners in the design and implementation of relevant initiatives, developing operational guidance materials, and identifying appropriate project activities and geographic areas of intervention. The incumbent will facilitate operational partnerships with NGOs, local authorities, and UN agencies, ensure quality field monitoring and compliance with Field Level Agreements, and support the development of thematic M&E tools and indicators. The role also entails contributing to thematic reporting for advocacy and resource mobilization, and actively participating in coordination forums related to livelihoods and resilience. Key Responsibilities (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive): Contribute towards the development of a limited number of projects, plans and processes, ensuring alignment with wider WFP programme policies and guidance. Provide project management support to specific programmes and projects of small to moderate size that are relatively straight forward in nature, ensuring a coordinated approach with wider programmes that complies with WFP standards and procedures. Follow data gathering and monitoring systems ensuring that rigorous quality standards are maintained. Research and analyse policy and operational issues to support senior colleagues in the development of policies, programmes and activities. Contribute to the preparation of accurate and timely reporting on programmes and activities that enable informed decision making and consistency of information presented to stakeholders. Liaise with internal counterparts to ensure effective collaboration, monitor ongoing projects. Support the identification, development and management of potential partnerships to collaborative working leading to improved food assistance packages. Support the capacity building of WFP staff, partners and national government to prepare for and respond to food assistance needs, e.g. through project management support of learning initiatives. Provide guidance to support staff, acting as a point of referral and assisting them with analysis and queries. Other as required. STANDARD MINIMUM ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Advanced University degree in one of the following disciplines: economics, agriculture, development studies or a field relevant to international development assistance. or First University Degree with additional years of related work experience. Experience: One (1) or more years of postgraduate professional experience (after completion of Advanced University degree) or, three (3) years or more after completion of First University degree in public sector management, development projects, recovery assistance, and/or operational aspects of national, bilateral or multilateral food assistance programmes. Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Arabic. Knowledge of French language is desirable. Required Skills and Knowledge for entry into the role: Knowledge of livelihood systems in Lebanon, including in rural and urban settings. Experience in livelihood, food system and resilience building at community level. Ability to plan and organize work under tight deadlines, ability to work independently and efficiently. Strong teamwork, partnership, and coordination capacities. Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
