Description

The Innovation and Technology Department - is offering Internship employment opportunities as a Programmer Analyst 1 Intern (Quality Assurance Analysis) to work with the PeopleSoft Finance Information Systems team.

As the Programmer Analyst 1 – Intern (Quality Assurance Analysis), you will:

  • Execute tests, document, and analyze test results to ensure bugs are identified and addressed.
  • Collaborate with development and configuration teams to troubleshoot issues.
  • Develop test scenarios/ cases/ scripts to use as the basis of testing to ensure appropriate test coverage and testing effort estimation.
  • Log issues clearly with reproducible steps, screenshots, and sample files.
  • Lead the test execution cycle so that work is assigned and prioritized, defects are triaged, and “blockers” to testing are removed on a timely basis.
  • Report on testing progress to keep project stakeholders informed of progress and aware of quality risks, and to estimate completion timelines and resource requirements.
  • Create user acceptance testing (UAT) scripts for business users.
  • Recommend process changes or configuration adjustments to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support performance tuning and monitor processing speed and stability.
  • Other duties as assigned consistent with the job classification.

YOUR EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • Successful completion of at least two years of a recognized university/college program in Information Systems and Technology, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge in testing methodologies, best practices and processes.
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of writing test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, test cases and test scripts.
  • Knowledge in performing Quality Assurance services including executing functional, non-functional, integration, and UI/UX testing.
  • Knowledge in data modelling, data mapping, and systems integration is preferred.
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively facilitate discussions on testing approach, risks and progress to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Written communication skills with the ability to prepare a variety of testing documentation, standard procedures, progress reports, and templates in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgement in fast paced environment as well as independently learn and adapt to a changing technological development and operating environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform and PeopleSoft ERP would be assets.
