Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Oracle PL/SQL/Apex Developer to support and modernize the Syndromic Surveillance (SS) module within the Georgia State Electronic Notifiable Disease Surveillance System (SendSS). This system is undergoing a modernization effort, transitioning from PL/SQL to Oracle Apex. The developer will work closely with the retiring legacy developer to understand existing functionality, provide ongoing support for users, and lead the redesign and redevelopment of the SS module using the Apex framework.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and support the existing Syndromic Surveillance (SS) module
• Collaborate with legacy developers to document and understand current system mechanics
• Redesign and implement functionality within the Oracle Apex framework
• Develop applications and ensure consistent standards for system maintenance
• Support modernization efforts as SendSS transitions away from PL/SQL
• Provide technical guidance, troubleshoot issues, and support staff using the system
• Ensure system stability, performance, and usability during the redevelopment process

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field from an accredited institution
• 5+ years of professional experience with Oracle PL/SQL programming
• 5+ years of experience developing web application front ends using HTML, JavaScript, and JavaScript-based frameworks
• 5+ years of experience with Oracle RDBMS
• 5+ years of full project lifecycle experience implementing web-based systems
• Strong troubleshooting skills, self-motivation, and ability to work independently
• Excellent judgment, communication, and collaboration skills
