As a Programmer Analyst with Application Support, you will work as part of a talented and dedicated team to provide front line application support and assistance to clients from one or more business units within the corporation. Primary duties include:

  • Collaborate with clients, team members and other Information Technology (IT) teams and divisions to resolve application incidents.
  • Configure develop and support the Organizations Parking Applications, including sustainment and enhancement requests in line with best practices.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues for a variety of applications, system integrations and/or reports.
  • Plan, test and implement system upgrades and troubleshoot integration points with other City systems.
  • Participate in regular maintenance tasks, perform overall health checks of the systems and investigate root cause analysis.
  • Recommend process innovation and enhancements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A completed 2 year technical diploma in Information Technology and at least 2 years of systems development and/or support experience in client/server environment is required.
  • Experience with Java is required.
  • Experience with Structured Query Language (SQL), SQL Server and BMC Remedy or a similar IT service management tool are assets.
  • Experience in web development including HTML, Extensible Markup Language (XML), Multi-mode Authentication Framework (MAF), Blacksmith and experience with Visual Basic, Visual Studio and C# will be considered assets.
  • Demonstrate accuracy and high attention to detail.
  • You can work independently as well as part of a team and are able to acquire new knowledge and skills quickly.
  • You have demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to plan and organize complex tasks.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • A security clearance will be conducted.
