EDUCATION:

University degree in Computer Science or an equivalent of 4 years recent experience (defined as within the last five years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.

EXPERIENCE:

Four (4) years’ experience in Information Systems Technology, which includes:Required:
Minimum 2 years programming and design.
Experience working with PeopleSoft HCM or PeopleSoft Financials 9.2
Experience with Oracle 12 or higher
Experience with reporting tools (e.g., BIRT, XML Publisher, Cognos, Power BI)
Experience supporting ERP applications and working with object-oriented development environments
Experience writing and executing SQL statementsPreferred:
Experience working with other ERP Systems such as IBM Maximo Asset Management System or Ellucian Advance
Experience with PeopleTools 8.56 or higher including Application Designer, PeopleCode, Application Engine, SQR, Integration Broker
Experience working with the fluid user interface
Experience using Maximo development tools (Application Designer and Migration Manager)
Experience with PL/SQL using Oracle 19 or higher on Unix environments
Working knowledge of Visual Studio.NET, Java Script, CSS, XML
Knowledge in the PeopleSoft HCM modules such as Core HR, Payroll, Time and Labour, Absence Management and Benefits Administration, or Financial modules such as General Ledger, Procurement and Accounts Payable
Knowledge of source control tools (e.g., GitHub, CVS, SVN)

Responsibilities

To provide support for one or more of York’s enterprise application systems which support the administrative units which include Oracle PeopleSoft based systems such as York’s Human Resources and Finance Systems, IBM Maximo, and the Alumni/Fundraising System. This includes identifying and analyzing business requirements, translating requirements to technical specifications, designing, and developing solutions using appropriate development tools (e.g., PeopleTools, Application Engine, PeopleCode, SQR, SQL, XML Publisher), ensuring that the systems are available and functioning efficiently, troubleshooting production problems, providing technical support to users, developing custom modules and systems, and modifying and upgrading software. The incumbent will develop resolutions to problems and new initiatives to meet the client’s business needs. This includes the system development life cycle. Some involvement in web development for applications related to support systems. To work closely with clients and other team members to ensure appropriate data tables and elements are incorporated into the University wide reporting database and to ensure that production reporting jobs are functioning efficiently and effectively. To troubleshoot production problems and provide ongoing support to clients regarding efficient use of the query tools.
