Description

BIICS, Inc is looking to fill a Programmer/Developer position. This is a contract-to-hire role. The position is located in Tallahassee, Florida and the consultant is required to attend a weeklong onsite training initially. Consultant may work remotely for the remainder of the 9-12 month engagement with the possibility of occasional travel.
This position develops software applications and participates in all phases of software development lifecycle for the Project, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing and deployment. This position works with a team of software developers, business analysts, QA, and others on a daily basis. Under the supervision of the Software Development Manager, this position collaborates on application development projects while supporting end users on application issues.

Responsibilities
  • Develops and extends existing software systems and databases.
  • Collaborates closely with team and end users to document, design, and develop software applications.
  • Actively participates in all phases of the software development lifecycle.
  • Provides documentation on new and existing systems.
  • Participates in Project meetings, walkthroughs and reviews as necessary.
  • Possesses in-depth knowledge of available tools and languages and stays apprised of new technology and how it can be used in our organization.
  • Works on application development projects while supporting end user and production issues; and performs other related duties and tasks as assigned.
  • Frequent contact with the IT team. Regular contact with Project Management teams and end users.
  • Frequent contact with client end users, including State staff.
  • Some travel is required. May be asked to visit the project location approximately once every quarter for training and team building.
