Description Position Summary: The Programming Technician works closely with the Engineering team and reports directly to the Engineering Manager. This technical role supports the design, development, and implementation of control systems and programs in a manufacturing environment. The position requires adherence to high standards of quality and productivity to meet precise customer specifications. The Programming Technician will develop product knowledge and technical proficiency through hands-on experience and structured learning. This role involves applying manufacturing and engineering knowledge to interpret requirements and deliver effective solutions. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, and Testing teams to design, test, and implement PLC programs using ladder logic Design and develop Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) for system monitoring, control, and alarm management Review sales orders and customer specifications to design programs that meet application requirements Compile and maintain project files, programs, and related documentation Prepare programming documentation for internal teams and end users Assist with program testing, validation, and troubleshooting Develop working knowledge of all company products Accurately enter and manage data within proprietary systems Maintain workflow to ensure on-time completion of assigned projects This is not intended to be a comprehensive list of job duties. Requirements Technical background with education and/or experience equivalent to a two-year degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field 2–5 years of experience supporting engineering within a manufacturing environment Strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of mathematics and electrical theory Ability to identify key product and application requirements through observation and effective communication to meet specific customer needs Working knowledge of ladder logic programming; experience with Automation Direct software preferred Intermediate computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn proprietary software Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to meet demanding deadlines Ability to work at a computer for extended periods Ability to understand, retain, and apply technical instructions Clear and concise communication skills in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
