About the role The Programs Coordinator is a dynamic and hands-on role responsible for coordinating the delivery and ongoing development of dry programs and aqua aerobics at the Bellarine Aquatic & Sports Centre. Reporting to the Centre Manager, this position oversees a broad range of recreation and wellness services including gym, group exercise, older adult, and junior programs, while providing leadership and support to program staff and instructors. The role plays a key part in ensuring a safe, inclusive, and customer-focused environment through effective daily operations, program planning, staff supervision, and stakeholder engagement. This position also contributes to the strategic growth of leisure programs and supports the centre’s commitment to community wellbeing, operational excellence, and high-quality customer service.   Key responsibilities include: * Coordinate and oversee the delivery of dry programs and aqua aerobics, ensuring safe, engaging, and customer-focused services across gym, group exercise, older adult, and junior programs. * Lead, mentor, and support program staff and instructors to maintain high standards of performance, customer service, and operational excellence. * Assist in the strategic planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of innovative recreation and wellness programs to meet community needs. * Manage day-to-day operational and administrative functions including program scheduling, facility bookings, reporting, and compliance with OH&S and Council policies. * Build positive relationships with customers, community groups, suppliers, and internal stakeholders while promoting a welcoming and inclusive leisure environment.   About you You are a motivated and community-focused recreation professional with experience in coordinating leisure, fitness, and wellness programs within a dynamic aquatic or leisure centre environment. You thrive in a leadership role, bringing the ability to support and develop staff while delivering exceptional customer experiences across a diverse range of programs and services.
