Description

OPPORTUNITY – PROGRAMS OFFICER, SCHOLARSHIPS & FELLOWSHIPS

The McCall MacBain Foundation is seeking a highly driven emerging professional to join our team as a Programs Officer, supporting our Scholarships & Fellowships.
Working in-person with a small, motivated team in a warm, open office in downtown Montreal OR in downtown Toronto, the Programs Officer will report to the Director of Grants & Programs, with an indirect reporting relationship to the Director, International Fellowships, and will collaborate closely with all team members.

THE CANDIDATE

You believe passionately in the importance of investing in youth to ensure a brighter future for all. Perhaps you were a student leader yourself – in a community or campus-based youth organization – and you may have benefited from a scholarship to help you along your own leadership trajectory. Or perhaps your interest in community-driven initiatives and youth leadership development came from work or volunteer opportunities you have pursued after your studies. You have some international experience – whether gained through immigration, travel, an academic exchange, language learning, or other cross-cultural work or volunteer experience. You value the growth that comes from international experience and cross-cultural learning and collaboration. You are excited to roll up your sleeves to support the leadership development of young people directly through the Foundation’s scholarships and fellowships. And, you are seeking to join a team that you can learn from and contribute to and with whom you can achieve shared goals.

EXPERIENCE

  • Post-secondary degree required; master’s degree an asset.
  • 2+ years of work experience required; in relevant field an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience as a youth leader or working in the area of youth leadership development, whether in an extra-curricular or professional capacity.
  • International experience – whether gained through immigration, travel, language learning, or other cross-cultural work or volunteer experience – is a must; lived experience abroad is a strong asset.
