Description

The Senior Software Engineer is a leading performer that manages technology projects and processes by leveraging creativity and comprehensive operational understanding to resolve a wide range of business issues. This role will tactically manage the evaluation, customization, implementation, and support of purchased applications and work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • 6-8 years’ relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • 4-6 years’ job-specific systems analysis work experience, with an emphasis on decision support systems.
  • 4+ years’ experience with RPG.
  • Familiar with Oracle.
  • Experience with relational and multidimensional database design as well as software package and/or systems implementation.
  • Experience with RDBMSs, MSSQL, Progress Open Edge Technologies, front end query tools, and other data warehousing software.
  • Knowledge of advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and support applications using Progress Open Edge ABL (4GL).
  • Design and optimize database schemas and queries using Progress Open Edge RDBMS, MSSQL, and Oracle.
  • Integrate barcode/SFC/MDM /SAP solutions using industry tools and protocols.
  • Build UI components using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SAP UI5, and XML/JSON for web-based interfaces.
  • Develop scripts and automation tools in Bash and Windows scripting environments.
  • Support Linux-based barcode thin clients and printers (Sato Barcode Printer Language, Nice Label).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement robust solutions.
  • Perform performance tuning, debugging, and optimization of existing applications.
  • Provide support and troubleshooting for production environments on both Linux and Windows platforms.
  • Ticketing tool Like JIRA , familiar with SDLC, ITIL process.
