Description

WE ARE OUTSTANDING, YOU CAN BE TOO.

We are looking for a dedicated, adaptable and enthusiastic Progression Tutor to become part of our thriving Learning and Teaching team at Portland College. The ideal person for the role will be positive and passionate about delivering high quality and engaging programmes of learning.
The role will involve a combination of classroom delivery, administrative tasks, and taking part in multi-disciplinary meetings. You will shape and help learners gain valuable life skills and employment outcomes, adapting resources and sessions in line with the needs of our learners. You will track and evidence learner progress and liaise with the Education team in order to ensure our learners are consistently engaged in their learning journey and are reaching their full potential.
To be successful in this role, you must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, as you will work closely with other members of the education team as well as liaising with parents and external agencies. You should possess outstanding organisational skills, and be flexible and adaptable within a fast paced and demanding working environment.
Ideally, we are looking for someone who has experience of working within a specialist education environment, delivering highly differentiated programmes to learners who have a wide variety of needs. However, we are willing to provide additional training for those who may lack experience but have the skills and attributes that we are looking for.
This role will involve regulated activity with our learners, therefore we will be required to carry out an Enhanced with Child and Adult Barred Lists DBS check for the successful candidate.
You can see more about what we do at Portland Charity by looking at the Who We Are and Choose Your Future pages on our website https://www.portland.ac.uk/
