Job Title: PROJECT ACCOUNTANT
Location: Vancouver, BC
Salary Range: $70,000 to $90,000 CAD per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation (or in progress) is preferred.
· Experience: 5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a background in real estate development, property management, or construction preferred.
· Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of Excel and Sage 300.
· Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills with high attention to detail.
· Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year

Responsibilities

· Financial Oversight: Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, financial statements, and reports.
· Project Financial Management: Oversee project accounting, ensuring accuracy in cost tracking, budget management, and financial forecasting.
· Budget and Forecast Leadership: Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses for multiple projects, providing insights on financial performance.
· Accounts Reconciliation and Analysis: Conduct bank, balance sheet, and account reconciliations; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
· Compliance and Controls: Ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies, and relevant accounting standards.
· Audit Coordination: Prepare audit schedules and documentation, liaise with external auditors, and ensure successful completion of annual audits.
· Process Improvement: Drive efficiencies in financial processes and reporting, identifying and implementing improvements in accounting practices.
· Mentorship and Support: Provide guidance and support to junior accounting team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-focused work environment.
