JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a dedicated Project Accountant to manage billing processes, monitor collections, and support project budgeting activities. The ideal candidate will maintain accurate contract records and collaborate with project teams to provide financial performance insights.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Understanding of Earned Value Management principles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including attention to grammar and detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced setting.
  • Highly organized, self-driven, and detail-focused.
  • Capable of handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, especially Word and Outlook.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Prior experience in an engineering firm is a strong asset.
  • 1+ years of general accounting experience preferred, but will also consider 1+ years of project admin or project coordinator experience.
  • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchase order, and contracts administration.
  • Proficient in Excel: pivot tables, vlookups, SUMifs, xlookups.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, especially Oracle EBS.
Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage billing processes, monitor collections, and support project budgeting activities.
  • Assist with accounts payable coding, timesheet entries, and expense report processing as needed.
  • Maintain accurate contract records, including fee structures and budget details.
  • Collaborate with project teams to provide financial performance insights and resolve related issues.
  • Ensure project accounting systems are aligned with departmental standards and contractual obligations.
  • Support document management efforts, including filing in Project Wise and overseeing document control.
  • Provide daily support to multiple project managers and team members.
  • Draft contracts and amendments using company-approved templates.
  • Track project deliverables and take meeting notes.
  • Work independently to complete assigned tasks.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
