We have a great opportunity for a Project Accountant to join our Strategic Surveillance team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role is responsible for supporting the Project and/ or Finance Manager in maintaining the integrity and transparency of financial data to facilitate planning and decision making for the project.
This role is based at our Edinburgh Parks office in Adelaide.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia such as a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.

Responsibilities
  • Provide detailed, accurate and relevant reporting and commentary by the specified deadlines on forecasts, budget and cash flow to the project team, central finance group and corporate staff.
  • Complete compliance to corporate guidelines, policies and procedures as well as accounting standards and legislation
  • Improve processes used to calculate accurate, timely and efficient reporting of the financial results for the project (e.g. streamline month-end process)
  • Collaborate with the project controls group on job ledger issues
  • Prepare journals for project accruals and adjustments
  • Manage the accruals process prepare and review reconciliation process between job and general ledger
