Castlefield Recruitment is currently working in partnership with a well-regarded public sector organisation that is experiencing a significant period of growth. We are looking for an experienced Project Accountant to join their team and contribute to a range of impactful financial projects.
Our client is a highly regarded employer with an outstanding reputation in the public sector. As their organisation continues to grow, they are seeking an experienced Accountant who can bring strategic insight and help shape the direction of the finance team. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in high-profile projects, providing critical financial expertise that will influence key decision-making.
For the successful candidate, a competitive salary of £55,000 – £60,000 is on offer, along with the chance to join a forward-thinking organisation that values collaboration, innovation, and impact.

Role:

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for ongoing and new projects
  • Monitor project budgets, including actuals vs. forecasts, ensuring financial control
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to explain budget deviations
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to align on financial objectives
  • Assist in forecasting future project costs and identifying cost optimisation opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and external regulations
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of project accounting processes
  • Maintain detailed project cost records and support audits as required

Person:

  • Part Qualified or Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
