Description Project Accountant As a Project Accountant, you will be an integral member of the project team, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting throughout the lifecycle of each project. You’ll work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and corporate accounting to support strong financial performance and compliance while building lasting relationships across teams. Responsibilities The Project Accountant will be knowledgeable in all aspects of construction accounting and responsible for: Preparing and submitting accurate monthly payment applications/invoices Fielding timesheets for proper billing and certified payroll submissions Organizing expenses out of Concur and properly applying to project billing as pass-through costs with markup or non-reimbursable. Reviewing subcontractor payment applications and vendor invoices. Managing subcontractor compliance with contract requirements (insurance, bonds, waivers, OCIP enrollment, billing procedures). Partnering with Project Management on monthly forecasts, including validation of projected fee and percent-complete analysis. Processing subcontractor and owner change orders in Procore, SAGE300, and CMiC. Managing labor and AP job cost transfers. Reviewing incoming AP invoices for validity and accuracy before submission for payment Monitoring the project’s cash position and completing monthly cash flow analysis. Preparing detailed project cash forecasts to support financial planning. Entering budgets for new projects and ensuring alignment with approved financial plans. Collaborating with corporate accounting to support the month-end close process. Assisting with job closeout activities and supporting financial setup for new projects. Requirements Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting or project finance experience (construction industry preferred). Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt to different personalities and management styles. Intermediate to advanced ability with Microsoft Excel. Experience working with CMiC and Procore highly desired. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage deadlines effectively. Experience with OCIP project administration and analysis is a plus. Demonstrated leadership qualities with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
