Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Project Accountant to join our dynamic construction team. This role is ideal for a professional with 3+ years of experience in project accounting, preferably within the construction industry, who is looking to take the next step in their career.
As a Project Accountant, you will play a critical role in supporting the financial success of our projects by managing budgets, tracking costs, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. You will collaborate closely with the finance team, project managers, and superintendents to provide timely insights and maintain financial integrity across all phases of construction.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related curricula or related experience
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping (construction industry preferred)
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office) and ability to learn Sage Construction software
  • Ability to work with all levels in the organization and contribute to a team environment
  • Comfortable collaborating with project teams, vendors, and clients
  • Ability to meet critical deadlines with accuracy and keen attention to detail
  • Exemplary organizational skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Prompt, dependable, and responsible

Responsibilities
  • Process and manage accounts payable
  • Process and manage subcontractor billings and payables
  • Assure subcontractor compliance with insurance and contract requirements
  • Set up and maintain job cost accounting for projects
  • Prepare and process monthly owner billings
  • Prepare account reconciliations and aging reports
  • Organize and file project related documents electronically
  • Process weekly trade payroll and periodic reports
  • Assist with annual financial statement audits
  • Review and approve subcontractor bonds and consent of sureties
  • Prepares various tax filings including sales & use, payroll, and others
  • Provide support and training for paperless accounts payable process
  • Assist staff as necessary with various tasks and requests
  • Other duties that may from time to time be assigned by the Company
