This person will be located in our Williamtown, NSW office. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a top notch, cutting-edge team that’s looking to make a positive impact on the world. Manage month-end financial close process for operating unit and work closely with Global Finance Manager to ensure accurate revenue recognition and all accruals and expenses are submitted timely and accurately. Oversee project controls effectiveness and work closely with other departments, such as Global Segment Finance, Segment Procurement, Corporate Accounting, Corporate Accounts Payable, Corporate Credit & Collections, Corporate Tax, Corporate Internal Audit and Corporate Legal to ensure financial, SOX, tax and legal compliance. Provide financial support to Program and Project Managers in preparation of estimate at completion (EAC) projections. Standardisation and continuous improvement of Operations back-office processes as business requirements evolve. Lead the review of project cost reports and preparation of monthly variance analysis relative to budgets and forecasts. Prepare timely project invoicing to customers including review of billable and non-billable expenses. Complete new project setups in the financial management system, including monitoring the setup checklist and maintaining project budgets/estimates. Assist with the completion of purchase order requisitions and ensure purchase orders have been received and approved in the company’s ERP system. Ensure local team’s timesheets and expense reports are processed timely and accurately Support local inventory and fixed asset management activities and own their accounting treatment including coordination of annual physical stock take Coordinate and prepare/support local external reporting requirements such as tax and financial reporting deliverables Travel occasionally to collaborate with team members in other offices. YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or other work-related degree or equivalent in experience 5+ years of finance/accounting/procurement work experience in a related role Ability to work with initiative and communicate clear and concise data to cross-functional teams A general understanding of project planning as well as experience or knowledge of project accounting Driven to equip local operational team with relevant and effective decision support information Motivated to exceed financial performance expectations for each project individually and local business performance overall Good numerical and analytical abilities, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel Strong attention to detail Proficiency using Microsoft Office software Experience in Workday and Coupa desirable Effective verbal and written communication skills Self-starter and effective time management/prioritisation skills Flexibility to interact productively with US parent organization (US EST time zone) Ability to work effectively both in a team and independently The above statements are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. Responsibilities
