Description:
JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to Financial Controller, the Project Accountant is responsible for providing financial and administrative services in order to ensure effective, efficient, and accurate financial and administrative operations.

- Ability to use tact and good judgment in dealing with sensitive and complex issues.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Required:
- Postsecondary education in Accounting and/or Business Administration or equivalent.
- Three to five years of related experience in administrative support, accounts receivable/payable, payroll and general bookkeeping, taxation, etc.
- Previous experience with budget, accounting and reporting systems.
- Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Knowledge of accounts receivable and payable functions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven accuracy and speed in mathematical computations.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Must have valid driver license (BC Class 5) and proof of satisfactory driving record.
- Criminal records check (vulnerable sector).
Preferred:
- Previous experience working in a First Nations community and/or organization.
