Ongoing, Clerk Grade 7/8 ($113,574 - $125,720 per annum) opportunity within the Industrial Relations branch based in Martin Place, Sydney. About the Role As a Project and Business Support Officer, you will be central to the effective operation of the Industrial Relations Branch within the People & Workforce Group. In this pivotal role, you will provide high-quality executive, administrative, and business coordination support, directly enabling the branch to achieve its strategic priorities and supporting informed decision-making by the Executive Director. You will coordinate and contribute to branch-level initiatives, manage project documentation and reporting, and play a key role in the day-to-day functions of the Executive Director’s unit. Your ability to balance competing priorities, adapt to ongoing change, and maintain the highest standards of integrity and professionalism will be essential to your success. Collaboration is at the heart of this role. You will build and maintain strong relationships across the Department and Ministerial Offices, ensuring clear, timely, and effective communication with a diverse range of stakeholders in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. We're Looking For Executive and Business Support: Proven experience delivering high‑quality executive, administrative and business coordination support in a fast‑paced environment, including complex diary management, correspondence, briefing materials and committee support. Project Management: Demonstrated ability to support and coordinate projects, including preparing and maintaining project documentation, tracking progress against plans, identifying risks, and contributing to continuous improvement of processes and systems. Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, accurate correspondence, reports and presentations, and to build effective working relationships across senior leaders, internal teams and external agencies. Planning, Prioritisation and Problem Solving: Well developed organisational skills with the capacity to manage competing priorities, respond to ad hoc and sensitive requests, analyse information, and proactively resolve or escalate issues to support informed decision‑making. Systems, Technology and Compliance: Experience using contemporary administration, records management and Microsoft Office 365 tools (including SharePoint), with the ability to apply best‑practice frameworks, policies and procedures to ensure compliance and improve efficiency.
