MAIN FUNCTION: Primary function is to perform project assignments not specifically assigned to regular personnel. The majority of time is spent on the maintenance of all tiled and carpeted floors throughout Arnot Health and outlying buildings. Works independently or in small work groups to accomplish projects as assigned. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ** 1. Performs all types of floor care, including stripping, sealing, burnishing, buffing, and refinishing floors and shampooing carpets. (Bonnet buffing/extracting) ** 2. Operates all equipment safely, including buffers, scrubbers, shampooers, automatic floor machines, burnishers. Cleans equipment after use and performs simple maintenance. ** 3. Loads linen and microfiber carts and bins to predetermined par levels and completes deliveries at scheduled times. Completes all functions associated with the linen processes. ** 4. Collects soiled linen and soiled microfiber products from designated areas and delivers to the soiled holding area. Completes all functions associated with the soiled linen processes. ** 5. Transports and sets up furniture for meetings. ** 6. Performs any and all tasks assigned to Building Service Attendants, i.e.: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, washing beds and furniture, cleaning bathrooms, replenishing paper supplies, moving furniture, cleaning the morgue. ** 7. Changes drapes/curtains, washes walls, ceilings, vents, windows and lights and other high cleaning requiring a ladder. ** 8. Performs the function of OR cleaning personnel on an as needed basis. Is responsible for attending all annual mandatory educational programs as required by position. EDUCATION: High school or equivalency preferred. Must be able to easily read and understand both verbal and written instructions. EXPERIENCE: Has worked as a Building Service Attendant at Arnot Health. Proven expertise in all phases of floor care. Good work performance. Good attendance record. Good guest relation skills - ability to get along well with others. CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION (CPR) REQUIREMENTS: No CPR required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Required to be on feet most of the time. Reaching, bending, stooping, lifting and climbing. Ability to physically control equipment during operation. EXPOSURE CATEGORY: Category II. Tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. But employment may require performing unplanned Category I tasks. ** A.D.A Essential Functions
