You’ll experience accelerated professional growth, early leadership opportunities, and the chance to contribute to meaningful, community focused affordable housing projects that make a real impact.   If you’re motivated by meaningful work, professional growth, and the opportunity to help build something new from the ground up, we’d love to connect.   POSITION SUMMARY: The Project Architect will oversee multiple affordable multi-family projects from start to finish, coordinating design, scheduling, and construction to ensure on-time, compliant and on-budget delivery that aligns with Elmington’s standards and overall vision. All activities will be performed in support of the values of Elmington.   Integrity ~ Precision ~ Growth ~ Driven ~ Relationships   Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: • Communication proficiency • Planning and organizing • Prioritizing • Ethical conduct • Problem assessment and problem solving • Information gathering • Attention to detail and accuracy • Flexibility • Adaptability • Teamwork oriented   Specific Education or Experience: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture • 7-10 years of professional experience in multifamily residential, student housing, hospitality, commercial or related market sectors. • Minimum of 3 years of direct experience with multifamily projects. • Licensed Architect strongly preferred. • Comprehensive knowledge of design phases, materials, and detailing for Type I, Type III, and Type V multi-family and mixed-use construction.   Minimum Qualifications: • Experience with garden-style and/or mid-rise multifamily projects. • Strong understanding of commercial real estate design principles, building codes, zoning regulations, and permitting/entitlement processes. • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and related architectural tools. • Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Procore. • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and accountability. • Collaborative and adaptable, with the ability to work seamlessly with developers, builders, designers, and marketing teams. • Strong grasp of brand-driven design, with the ability to translate brand guidelines into residential spaces. • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of aligning design initiatives with broader business goals.   Essential Job Functions: • Deliver creative, efficient design solutions that align with client vision, budgets, and timelines. • Oversee design development, including conceptual and schematic plans, renderings, and specifications, across multiple projects. • Develop and refine site plans and density studies, incorporating stakeholder and regulatory feedback. • Ensure integration of zoning requirements and jurisdictional regulations into site planning. • Manage consultant teams to produce complete contract documents through construction issue, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and project goals. • Review and approve consultant deliverables for quality and consistency. • Ensure accuracy and completeness of architectural plans, specifications, and documentation. • Participate in construction administration, including responding to RFI’s and reviewing submittals. • Create 3D models, renderings, and reference diagrams to communicate design intent. • Prepare and present design proposals, project updates, and progress reports to management and stakeholders.   Physical Demands and Work Environment: • Frequently sit, stand and walk • Regularly required to talk or hear • Frequently required to use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls • Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds • Vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate • Temperature in the workplace is typically moderate   Travel Requirements: This position requires travel to ensure projects and timelines are aligned.   The Elmington Experience: At Elmington, we foster an entrepreneurial mindset, compensating for the value our team members bring to the table.
