ROLE PROFILE TITLE:  Project Assistant (Health & Nutrition) (FOR MYANMAR NATIONAL ONLY) TEAM/PROGRAMME: Child Poverty, Program Implementation     LOCATION: Sittwe, Rakhine Number of Positions: 1 GRADE: NAT-5     CONTRACT LENGTH: Fixed Term (6 months) CHILD SAFEGUARDING: Level 3:  the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the vetting process staff. ROLE PURPOSE: This position mainly intends to manage and implement health and nutrition activities at project areas and to make sure the activities to be effective by monitoring and supervision to field volunteers. Project Assistant implement the activities related to the improvement of health and nutrition status, through Social and Behaviour Change (SBCC) Platform and engage with related stakeholders and volunteers to support MNCH& IMAM through effective mobilization at the community level. This program aims to reduce health risk factors among vulnerable population in targeted communities through WASH, Health and Nutrition in Rakhine State. SCOPE OF ROLE:  Direct report to: Project Officer  Staff directly reporting to this post: N/A Budget Responsibility: No financial approval Role Dimensions: Regular contact of basic information  Travel: Frequently (at least 3 times per a month) KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: •    Day to Day management of health and nutrition activities through community-based approach while conducting field monitoring and remote monitoring  •    Assist Project Officer in activities planning, work planning, budget calculation, with supportive ideas and experiences. •    Provide technical training such as IYCFe, BFPC, home based newborn care, U5 sick child care to CBHWs to build their capacity for proper program implementation. •    Make sure to conduct SBCC sessions that are Mother leader session, Mother to Mother Support group session, IYCF Care giver Session with the purpose of behavioral change intervention and do provide supportive supervision •    Supervision on MtMSG and IYCF caregiver SBCC sessions in fields. •    Conduct coordination meeting with local authorities to raise awareness of health and nutrition implementation in community. •    Make sure to conduct Referral coordination meeting with Mobile clinic to be smooth referral pathway •    Responsible for stock management (i.e. Clean Delivery Kits, Micronutrient Tablets, etc.) not to be stock out in both field and office warehouse. •    Take a lead for Stock transportation to project areas dealing with logistics team. •    Deal with finance team for advance cash to implement field activities achievely. •    Assist to Project Officer in Nutrition Promotion activities in project area •    Sharing of problems solving ways and lessons studies to colleagues •    Data collection, data checking and data follow up from CBHWs make sure the records •    Ensure the documentation of project activities and keep systematic •    Submit Monthly activities report & Monthly stock report to Project Officer •    Any other duties and tasks assigned by supervisor Child Safeguarding Responsibilities: •    Ensure that your staff is providing all beneficiaries of your programmed with ongoing, age-appropriate verbal or written information in relevant languages about Save the Children’s Child Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct BEHAVIOURS (Values in Practice) Accountability: •    Holds self-accountable for making decisions, managing resources efficiently, achieving and role modelling Save the Children values •    Holds the team and partners accountable to deliver on their responsibilities - giving them the freedom to deliver in the best way they see fit, providing the necessary development to improve performance and applying appropriate consequences when results are not achieved. Integrity: •    Honest, encourages openness and transparency; demonstrates highest levels of integrity •    Always acts in the best interests of children QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Essential •    Any bachelor’s degree •    At least 1-year experience in Maternal/Child health and Nutrition Program •    Proven team management skills & good communication with colleagues •    Experience or willing in working at hard to reach/ remote areas with limited resources •    Respect the local culture, belief and tradition and eager to learn from community. •    Strong commitment and dedication for development of grass root people •    Good team member and willing to work with various type of people •    Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and •    principles. Desirable •    Experience with multi-sectorial programming, or experience managing programs in several different sectors. •    Preferable implementation experience in Rakhine context •    Experience working with community groups in humanitarian, post-conflict and recovery development context. •    Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles. •    Willingness and capability to comply with all relevant Save the Children policies and procedures with respect to health and safety, security, equal opportunities and other relevant policies, including the Child Safeguarding Policy. •    Prior experience with Save The Children •    Experience working with children and on children’s issues.
