Position: Project Assistant – Team-Up Lancaster  Department: Public Works Maintenance Services Division Hourly Range: $32.05 - $54.94/hour Non - Exempt – Overtime Eligible Promotional Opportunity – Internal Candidates Only This position is a promotional opportunity and is open to current employees only. Job Summary: The City of Lancaster is seeking a Project Assistant to support the Team-Up Lancaster program, a community-focused initiative designed to strengthen partnerships, expand outreach, and enhance local engagement. Under general supervision, the Project Assistant will coordinate communication with stakeholders, support outreach efforts, assist with event planning and execution, and help collect and track program data. A flexible work schedule is required, including at least one Saturday event per month based on program needs. The position will also lead or support youth litter removal and graffiti cleanup events to promote community pride and civic participation. THIS POSITION IS A LIMITED-TERM ASSIGNMENT. EMPLOYMENT IN THIS CLASSIFICATION IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTINUED FUNDING AND IS NOT INTENDED TO BECOME A PERMANENT POSITION. GRANT-FUNDED POSITIONS DO NOT QUALIFY FOR MERIT-BASED PAY INCREASES. THE CITY AND STATE WILL EVALUATE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE POSITION ON AN ANNUAL BASIS TO DETERMINE THE NEXT FISCAL YEAR'S FUNDING LEVEL. EITHER PARTY MAY TERMINATE FUNDING FOR THE POSITION AT THE END OF EACH FISCAL YEAR, RESULTING IN TERMINATION OF THE POSITION. THIS POSITION IS CURRENTLY FUNDED UNTIL MARCH 31, 2027.   Supervisory Responsibilities: * None EXAMPLE OF DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: * Serve as a primary point of contact for community partners, stakeholders, and program participants. * Field calls, respond to inquiries, and manage program-related correspondence. * Organize, track, and maintain schedules, calendars, and project timelines. * Support planning, logistics, and on-site coordination for community events, outreach activities, workshops, and volunteer programs. * Lead or support youth litter removal, graffiti cleanup, and other community improvement events. * Assist in preparing outreach materials, presentations, and program documentation. * Collect and organize program data for reporting, evaluation, and compliance. * Track program expenditures, assist with procurement needs, and support budget management. * Provide general program and administrative support to ensure successful implementation of TeamUp Lancaster initiatives. * Work a flexible schedule, including at least one Saturday event per month based on event requirements.
