TITLE: Project Assistant (Shelter) TEAM/PROGRAMME: Humanitarian Response    LOCATION: Hpa-an Number of Position: 1 GRADE: NAT - 5    CONTRACT LENGTH: Fixed term CHILD SAFEGUARDING: Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the vetting process staff. ROLE PURPOSE:  The Project Assistant (Shelter) will support the implementation of emergency Shelter activities across the Southeast area. The position will assist the Project Officer in coordinating field-level Shelter interventions, supporting community engagement, monitoring construction works, and ensuring that activities are implemented in accordance with organizational guidelines and humanitarian standards. The role will also support data collection, documentation, and reporting to ensure timely delivery of Shelter activities and effective communication between communities, field teams, and the project management team. SCOPE OF ROLE: Reports to: Project Officer Direct report: N/A Financial Approval: No Travel: Frequent (over 10 days per month) KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:  Program Management •    Support the implementation of Shelter activities according to approved technical standards, guidelines, and project work plans. •    Assist in conducting field assessments and identifying Shelter needs in targeted communities. •    Support the supervision of construction activities and ensure compliance with approved designs and safety standards. •    Assist in preparing basic construction material lists and supporting documents under the guidance of the Project Officer. •    Support community mobilization and coordinate with community members involved in Shelter construction activities. •    Assist in monitoring the quality of construction materials and works at project sites. •    Maintain daily records of construction activities, including labour attendance and work progress. •    Assist in organizing and facilitating training sessions or orientation for community workers and local stakeholders. •    Ensure community members understand the project objectives, implementation approach, and safety procedures. •    Ensure adherence to humanitarian standards including Sphere Standards. Monitoring and Evaluation •    Assist in collecting field data and monitoring project activities using appropriate tools. •    Support documentation of progress, challenges, and lessons learned from Shelter implementation. •    Assist in maintaining records of beneficiaries, construction progress, and project outputs. •    Support the verification of data and reporting in the project monitoring system. Grant Management  •    Support the Project Officer in maintaining project documentation related to budget utilization and activities. •    Assist in preparing supporting documents for project expenditure related to Shelter activities. •    Ensure that records such as labor attendance sheets and payment documents are properly prepared and submitted. Communications and Coordination  •    Maintain effective communication with community leaders, local authorities, and project stakeholders. •    Support coordination between field teams and programme staff to ensure smooth project implementation. •    Assist in preparing internal reports and updates on project activities. •    Support coordination with other sector teams when required Child Safeguarding Responsibility:  •    Ensure that staff providing all beneficiaries of your programme with ongoing, age-appropriate verbal or written information in relevant languages about Save the Children’s Child Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct BEHAVIOURS •    Take all necessary and appropriate steps to prevent fraud, bribery, and corruption within their areas of responsibility, report and respond to all incidents and concerns and comply with the Counter-Fraud, Bribery and Corruption Policy and Procedure. Integrity: •    Honest, encourages openness and transparency; demonstrates highest levels of integrity •    Always acts in the best interests of children   QUALIFICATIONS and SPECIFICATION •    Diploma in Civil engineering  •    Experience working with community groups in humanitarian, post-conflict and recovery development context.   •    Basic knowledge and skills on computer software AUTO CAD or similar, MS Word Package and other computer packages. •    Provern experience in working at Southeast area and local knowledge is advantages •    Good knowledge of project management cycle.  •    Good communication and interpersonal skills. •    Ability to work effectively with communities and local stakeholders. •    Ability and willingness to travel to remote project areas.
