ROLE BRIEF APCO is seeking a Project Assistant to support client projects in Shanghai. This is an entry-level role ideal for early-career professionals who are eager to build experience in Corporate communications, Media Relations and Public Affairs within a fast-paced, global consultancy environment. The Project Assistant will work closely with project managers and senior team members and receive hands-on exposure to a wide range of client work. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Monitor media coverage, research industry trends, and develop media monitoring reports. Draft, translate, and edit press materials, including but not limited to press releases, media Q&As, speeches, briefing materials, case studies, and corporate newsletter content under project managers' supervision. Develop social media content and manage clients’ social media accounts. Provide media liaison, media pitch, on-site event, and communications support to internal team members and clients. Support senior managers with business development by conducting research, preparing background materials, and contributing to proposal development. Maintain self-driven passion and curiosity to stay abreast of client issues and related industry/media trends to generate fresh story ideas. Other responsibilities as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS AND STANDARDS EDUCATION: University degree or higher, preferred in Strategic Communications, Media Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or a related field. LANGUAGES: mother tongue level in Chinese, with excellent English and Chinese research, writing, and speaking skills. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 6 months’ internship or full-time work experience in media, public relations or corporate. Experience with social media operation is preferred. CORE SKILLS: Be able to demonstrate excellent writing skills, with the ability to articulate messages clearly and in a style appreciate to target audience. Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in both traditional media and digital /social media. Has good time management sense, communication skills, and proactive learning attitude. Self-motived, efficient, responsible, flexible and adaptable to different tasks at hand.
