Overview:
Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Project Associate and Paralegal serves within the Office of the General Counsel (OGC) of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), providing (a) support in preparation, review, and processing of legal documents using form templates and managing special projects, (b) manage specific aspects of the project from development through implementation and will play a crucial role in assisting in ensuring the completion of larger projects, (c) create and develop project plans through analysis to support the completion of the various projects, (d) perform project support work, including but not limited to, administrative support, generating and distributing reports, scheduling meetings, generating and distributing reports, invoice and expense processing, and providing assistance in projects at the direction of management with the organization, (e) provide support to ongoing projects and will help track specific aspects of the project, (f) assist in process improvement and quality assurance programs.
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: 2+ years of experience in leading projects; Experience leading multiple projects at one time and comfortable with a fast-paced collaborative work environment; and very strong organizational skills are required. Experience in database management and finance/budget preferred. Prior paralegal experience, or experience in law firms or in-house legal departments preferred.
Education/Licensure/Certification: Bachelor’s Degree and at least one of the following: a) A paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program, b) A certificate from a paralegal program, or a degree from, an accredited secondary institution which requires at least 31 semester units in law-related courses, or c) currently pursuing one of the above. Project Management Certificate preferred
