Context
The pilot project Amplifying Migrant Voices - Ensuring a migrant-centered and rights-based approach to regular pathways between Kenya and Germany seeks to support the development of a migrant-centered and protection-sensitive migration framework between Kenya and Germany. Against the backdrop of Germany’s labour shortage and the increasing demand for skilled migration from third countries, this project will address the critical need for safer, more accessible pathways that protect migrants from risks such as trafficking and labour exploitation, while also addressing challenges related to mental health and well-being, aligning pathways with the lived experiences of migrants. The project seeks to empower Kenyan migrants in Germany and aspiring migrants in Kenya by gathering their insights and translating these into actionable policy recommendations. Insights gained through participatory research and stakeholder consultations will amplify migrant voices, promoting the inclusion of their perspectives in existing structures and dialogues where possible.” Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) in IOM Germany and direct supervision of the National Project Officer and in collaboration with relevant units within the mission and IOM Kenya, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the project “Amplifying Migrant Voices - Ensuring a migrant-centered and rights-based approach to regular pathways between Kenya and Germany”.
