JOB OVERVIEW

RDQ Engineering Inc., is growing and we are seeking a full-time Project Associate to join our dynamic team. The potential candidate will work closely with the firm`s principal senior engineers on a variety of facility condition assessments and building restoration projects, both on existing buildings and new construction. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual looking to grow their career in the engineering consulting firm as well as construction site working environment. This position requires a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent organizational and technical skills, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Civil Engineering Bachelor Degree or Building Science/Architectural Science Bachelor Degree.
  • Masters degree is an asset.
  • 1+ years of experience in project coordination or a similar role with an engineering firm.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD. Knowledge of other structural analysis and design software is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Ontario Building Code and/or National Building Code of Canada is an asset.
  • Must have a valid G drivers license and personal vehicle to travel to job sites.
  • Must be able to working at heights. Ability to climb access ladders, scaffolding, boom lifts and swing stage platforms.
    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
    Pay: $55,000.00-$70,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Assist the senior engineer in conducting property condition assessments, reserve fund studies and performance audits.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation including condition assessment reports, site visit reports, building component physical inspection reports, minutes of meeting, project updates etc.
  • Perform site visits to evaluate contractors performance, ensuring project deliverables and quality standards are maintained.
  • Review and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Assist in preparation of design drawings, scope of work and technical specifications for various types of repair and rehabilitation projects such as parking garage structures, balconies, windows, building envelope repairs, roof replacements etc.
  • Support quality control checks and compliance with approved design drawings, specifications and design standards.
  • Coordinate communication between contractors, subcontractors, and clients to facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Participate in meetings, prepare presentations and assist in client communications.
  • Liaison with all project stakeholders ensuring the projects will be delivered on time and on budget.
  • Maintain organized records of all project-related documents for easy access by team members.
