Description

One of our major clients a fast-growing and innovative tax consulting firm headquartered in Downtown Los Angeles, is actively seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Associate to join their team.

Our client specializes in guiding clients across diverse sectors—including manufacturing, software, engineering, biotechnology, and food & beverage—through the process of calculating, documenting, and defending Research & Development (R&D) Tax Credits under IRS Section 41.Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and draft technical narratives that describe clients’ product development processes and innovation activities
  • Conduct detailed analysis and recording of client financial data relevant to R&D tax claims
  • Participate in on-site client visits, including interviews with business owners, project managers, and engineering leaders—taking structured notes and contributing to project discussions
  • Collaborate with internal team members to support client deliverables and ensure compliance with IRS Section 41 regulations

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a corporate setting; background in Accounting, Finance, or Engineering is a strong plus
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to explain technical topics clearly
  • Strong professional presence and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, and capable of managing multiple assignments under deadline-driven conditions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to follow direction while also showing initiative to seek guidance and offer solutions when challenges arise
