Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role ITS is delivering a substantial portfolio of digital and technology-enabled initiatives that support the University’s strategic priorities. We are seeking a change practitioner to ensure these initiatives land well, embed successfully, and deliver measurable outcomes. As Project Change Specialist, you will lead structured change approaches across the ITS portfolio. Working from impact assessment through to sustained adoption, you will design and implement change strategies that build readiness, strengthen sponsorship, and manage cumulative change load across multiple concurrent initiatives. You will work closely with project managers, business analysts, sponsors, and governance groups to: Define adoption success measures and readiness criteria Assess change impacts and stakeholder risks Sequence and manage change activity across the portfolio Escalate material adoption risks to governance Enable leaders to confidently champion change You will also design clear, targeted communications that drive engagement and behavioural uptake — ensuring messaging supports strategy, not just activity. Beyond individual projects, you will contribute to strengthening change capability within ITS by embedding structured methodologies, practical tools, and consistent standards that lift delivery maturity over time. This is a permanent, full-time role (37.5 hours per week) based at our Hillcrest Campus. Salary will be negotiated with the preferred candidate based on capability and experience. You are an experienced change specialist with a proven track record delivering technology-enabled transformation in complex organisations. You bring: Formal change management training (e.g. Prosci/ADKAR or equivalent) Experience designing and delivering structured change strategies across multiple initiatives Demonstrated success driving measurable adoption outcomes Confidence operating within governance environments and advising senior leaders Strong impact and readiness assessment capability The ability to balance strategic thinking with disciplined execution You are consultative, pragmatic, and outcomes focused. You simplify complexity, communicate with clarity, and build trust quickly with diverse stakeholder groups. You are comfortable influencing without direct authority and navigating competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
