Role description: Our growing team in the GTA is seeking a civil engineer with 7-10 years of experience in water and wastewater works civil design and assessment to join our Canadian Water Business and support our Water Facilities and Conveyance Practices. You will work within a strong team environment to deliver solutions to our clients. Arcadis serves a variety of municipal and private sector clients in many market sectors. You will bring your expertise to a variety of project types ranging from large municipal water/wastewater treatment facility upgrades projects to local system upgrades and feasibility studies. As part of this role, you will participate in business development and proposal development activities, assist in project management, provide input into staffing and training needs and mentor and supervise the work of supporting technical staff. This role sites within our Resilience Global Business Area. Role accountabilities: The role involves leading civil site works design packages, including preparing design drawings, technical specifications, cost estimates, hydraulic modelling and calculations, erosion and sediment control evaluations, layouts, and earthworks design. You will provide engineering services during construction for water and wastewater treatment facilities, water reservoirs, and pumping or lift stations. Responsibilities also include developing regulatory permit application packages, technical documents and reports, work plans, memoranda, and other environmental documentation to support design and permitting activities. The position requires close coordination and collaboration with multi-disciplinary project teams, including sub-consultants, throughout the design and construction phases. Additionally, you will participate in quality reviews, contribute to quality improvement processes, develop and maintain relationships with municipal and approval agencies, and supervise junior engineers, technologists, and designers. The role may also include other responsibilities as assigned. Key Attributes The ideal candidate is proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and demonstrates a strong work ethic, with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction effectively. You should have proven experience working within multidisciplinary project teams and coordinating across various functions. Proficiency in all aspects of design activities is required, including the preparation of studies, functional and detailed design drawings and reports, and contract documentation, as well as involvement in tendering, construction administration, and commissioning. A thorough understanding of relevant Canadian federal and provincial regulations is essential. Experience meeting timelines and budgets, as well as skills in proposal writing, business/client development, and consulting, are important. Strong working knowledge of CAD, ACAD Civil3D, and MicroStation is necessary. The role requires a client-focused mindset, always striving to deliver the best solutions, along with excellent interpersonal skills to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders. Qualifications and Experience: University degree in Civil Engineering program or recognized equivalent Hold a Professional Engineering License (P.Eng.) registered in province of Ontario or equivalent experience. 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in civil engineering for water and wastewater facilities and for linear watermain/ storm and sanitary systems. The salary range for this position is $89,600-134,400. The base salary represents Arcadis' hiring range for this position.
