Job Title: Project Co-ordinator - From Care to Command
Contract Type: Fixed term contract – 1 year, 28 hours per week (4 days)
Salary: £24,800 per annum (£31,000 FTE)
Base: Flexible – Remote/Hybrid, with occasional travel

Rees Foundation is seeking a motivated and experienced Project Co-ordinator to lead a groundbreaking project supporting Care Leavers within the Armed Forces and their families, ‘From Care to Command’. This role offers a unique opportunity to empower those who have served or are serving in the Armed Forces, helping them address the challenges of trauma, mental health, and social exclusion while fostering personal growth and resilience.

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Experience working with Care Leavers, veterans, or Armed Forces communities (desirable).
  • Understanding of trauma-informed practice and its application in supporting vulnerable groups.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.

SKILLS

  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Confidence in facilitating group sessions and delivering training.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • A current driving licence and access to your own transport (essential).
  • Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings or weekends as required.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

As the Project Co-ordinator, you will:

  • Co-ordinate the delivery of the “From Care to Command” project, ensuring all activities run smoothly and meet project objectives.
  • Engage Care Leavers within the Armed Forces community, creating pathways for accessing tailored support services.
  • Organise and facilitate key project activities, including Let’s Connect sessions, monthly support groups, and counselling services.
  • Collaborate with the existing pool of trained, DBS-checked, trauma-informed practitioners to deliver effective support.
  • Build relationships with Armed Forces charities, welfare officers, and local authorities to maximise the project’s impact.
  • Deliver and oversee training sessions for Armed Forces organisations to raise awareness of Care Leavers’ needs.
  • Monitor and evaluate the project’s outcomes, collecting feedback and data to report on its impact and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Liaise with beneficiaries to identify their specific needs, develop personalised action plans, and provide ongoing support.
  • Manage the project budget, ensuring value for money and alignment with funder requirements.
  • Act as an ambassador for the Rees Foundation, showcasing the project at external events and meetings.

  • Undertake continuing professional Development (CPD) with support from your manager to further enhance your skill base.
