Department of Chinese Language and Literature Project Co-ordinator II (carrying the job title of ‘Academic Activities Liaison Officer’) The Department of Chinese Language and Literature is now inviting applications for a full-time Project Co-ordinator II to assist with various academic and administrative duties. The appointee will be responsible for (a) planning and co-ordinating the departmental promotional and academic exchange activities, conferences, seminars and other related academic events; (b) managing the publication of academic journal, books, and proceedings; (c) liaising with internal and external collaborative parties; (d) monitoring the progress and development of academic review and assessment projects; (e) writing proposals and reports; (f) overseeing general administration and managing the daily operation of the PG programmes offered by the Department; (g) providing secretarial and administrative support to various committees, including scheduling meetings and preparing meeting documents; and (h) performing other tasks as assigned by the supervisor. Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree or above; (ii) an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua); (iii) computer literacy; (iv) effective planning and organisational skills; (v) good interpersonal skills and team spirit; and (vi) strong self-motivation, the ability to multitask, work independently and under pressure. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test. Applicants must submit copies of certificates showing that they have fulfilled the language requirements and academic qualifications stated above, otherwise their applications will NOT be considered. Appointment will initially be made on a 1-year contract, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
