United College Project Co-ordinator II (carrying the job title of ‘Assistant College Development Officer’) United College is one of the founding colleges of The Chinese University of Hong Kong and has over 3,800 undergraduate students. The College places strong emphasis on whole-person education and enhancing their sense of social responsibility with a wide range of activities. The appointee will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to the College Dean of Students’ Office, duties include (a) organising College-based functions and activities for staff and students; (b) assisting with credit-bearing courses and events under the College General Education Programme; (c) supporting student organisations and activities; (d) co-ordinating College anniversary functions and ceremonies; (e) providing secretarial support to committees and handling general office administration; and (f) performing other duties as assigned. Overtime work outside normal office hours (including evenings, weekends, and public holidays) is occasionally required. Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree; (ii) at least 3 years’ post-qualification experience; (iii) an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese; (iv) strong communication and teamwork skills; (v) the ability to work independently under tight time constraints; and (vi) solid IT proficiency, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Having experience in the tertiary education sector will be an advantage. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test. Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
