Description
Department of Economics Project Co-ordinator II (carrying the job title of ‘Career Officer’) The appointee will be responsible for (a) providing career support service to students; (b) maintaining the operations of the Career Unit, including promoting job opportunities to students, providing career and development advice, organizing alumni events, handling relationships with external employers, and organizing company visits and relevant recruitment events; (c) handling enquiries and relevant operations related to student scholarships, (d) providing administrative and secretarial support to academic and research programmes; (e) liaising with the University’s internal academic and administrative units, and external professional organisations; (f) assisting with office administration; (g) handling the daily operations of the General Office; and (h) performing other duties as assigned. Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree; (ii) at least 2 years’ work experience in the business sector, preferably in banking, finance, human resources management, or related roles; (iii) an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); (iv) proficiency in computer applications, such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Chinese word-processing; (v) good interpersonal skill, a strong sense of responsibility, and self-motivation; and (vi) the ability to work independently. Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
