The Chinese University of Hong Kong Press Project Co-ordinator II (Manuscript Editing) Founded in 1977, The Chinese University of Hong Kong Press is a leading English-Chinese bilingual publisher of scholarly and trade publications on China studies. We are seeking an editorial staff to join our team to publish high-quality academic and academic trade titles across a variety of subject areas. The appointee will be responsible for (a) overseeing the whole publication process of designated manuscripts from initial submission to final proofing; (b) communicating with in-house staff and external stakeholders, such as authors, book contributors, freelancers, designers, indexers, etc.; (c) performing administrative tasks, including updating and managing database records, reviewing project budgets, maintaining project file records, and drafting reports; and (d) performing other tasks as assigned by the supervisor. Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities or Social Sciences; (ii) at least 3 years’ relevant work experience, preferably with editorial experience; (iii) an effective command of written and spoken English and Chinese; (iv) excellent networking and communication skills; (v) thorough understanding of the Chicago Manual of Style and sufficient editing experience of traditional Chinese materials; and (vi) enthusiasm for the publishing industry. Responsibilities
The appointee will be responsible for overseeing the entire publication process for designated manuscripts, from initial submission through final proofing.
