Description
Faculty of Science Project Co-ordinator II The Faculty of Science has over 4,000 students guided by more than 400 teaching and research staff, and has six major teaching units offering a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Reporting to the Faculty Secretary, the appointee will be responsible for (a) co-ordinating undergraduate admissions across all schemes/channels, including arranging interviews, validating application documents, preparing recommendations/nominations, and confirming offer acceptance; (b) actively engaging with and following up on prospective students and applicants; (c) co-ordinating and providing support for admissions and Faculty events; (d) preparing promotional materials and managing posts for social media platforms; (e) handling admission scholarships; (f) providing support for newly admitted students; and (g) assisting with other duties as assigned. Applicants should have (i) a good Bachelor’s degree; (ii) at least 2 years of administrative experience, preferably in the tertiary education sector or similar organisations; (iii) proficiency in IT applications, including Microsoft 365 (especially Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), PDF, Zoom, and Chinese word-processing (knowledge of graphic design tools such as Adobe Illustrator or Canva would be an advantage); (iv) a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua); (v) strong attention to detail and organisational skills; (vi) good interpersonal, communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills; and (vii) a high sense of responsibility, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test. Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to 2 years (with contract-end gratuity for a 2-year contract), renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
