PROJECT COMMUNICATIONS ADVISOR – SECONDMENT

RPS, a Tetra Tech company is looking for a Project Communications Advisor to be based in Dublin / Cork. This is a fulltime role (5 days per week) seconded to a client team which involves working on-site in the client’s office 3 days per week and from the RPS offices 2 days per week. Following a successful probation period, hybrid working can be arranged (3 office days with 2 days work from home per week).

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • The candidate must have strong communications advisory skills with the ability to guide multidisciplinary project teams on effective project communications
  • The candidate must have proven professional experience in communications for infrastructure projects with experience at construction stage an advance
  • The candidate must have a minimum of 5 years’ post graduate relevant experience in communications with the majority relating to infrastructural or climate action projects.
  • The candidate must have, strong communications skills, strong report writing skills and excellent stakeholder management skills
  • The candidate must have demonstrable experience of devising and implementing successful communications strategies, including developing communications collateral, media and social media campaigns, event management and stakeholder engagement
  • The candidate must have proven ability to work closely with clients to achieve high levels of satisfaction and win-win outcomes
  • The candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The candidate should have strong analytical skills and the ability to develop communications strategies and plans for the designated area where required
  • The candidate should have the ability to prioritise tasks, work with schedules and manage resources while remaining focused on team goals
  • The candidate should be able to organise and manage key events (project launches, public consultations)
  • The candidate should have proven experience of delivering projects in a deadline driven and evolving environment
  • The candidate should have demonstrable account management experience including managing client relationships and reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Hold an honours degree (Level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications) in a relevant academic discipline: Communications, Public Relations, Social Sciences, Behavioural Economics, Law or Business.
Responsibilities

This position involves working on a seconded basis to support our client’s project communications and infrastructure delivery teams to ensure the successful delivery of water and wastewater projects. This large-scale infrastructure portfolio consists of hundreds of water services projects to the value of approx. €1bn per annum. Projects being delivered relate to the provision of new and upgraded water and wastewater treatment facilities and networks. Due to the scale of investment, our client requires technical communications support to ensure delivery of these projects.
The successful candidate will work directly with the Corporate Affairs Project and Communities team. The team operates in a holistic regional model broken into 4 pillar regions- South West, South East Midlands, East and North West. Each team is responsible for the communications activities within their region and support other projects across the portfolio as required. This team has responsibility for project communications across the Infrastructure Delivery portfolio, regional stakeholder management, query resolution for media and elected representatives, incident management and national campaigns and sponsorships.

The Project Communications Advisor will have responsibility for:

  • Delivering communications on projects to achieve the client’s vision and objectives
  • Devising and implementing project communications plans
  • Internal stakeholder engagement including liaison with technical colleagues and multi-disciplinary teams, preparing internal reports and presenting to internal meetings
  • External stakeholder engagement including with contractors, residents’ associations, interest groups and elected representatives
  • Writing - project briefing sheets, press releases, website articles, social media content, etc
  • Message development to make technical / complex information accessible and relevant to the general public, businesses, elected public representatives, and other stakeholders
  • Planning and delivering public information / public consultation open days/evenings and online events
  • Organising, attending, presenting, and taking minutes at stakeholder meetings
  • Event management for ministerial sod turnings and official openings of water and wastewater projects
  • Stakeholder mapping, relationship management and maintaining up-to-date contact databases, in line with GDPR
  • Due to the dynamic nature of the business, key responsibilities will evolve and change over time.
